Creativity is everywhere in Hampton Roads.

Musicians. Filmmakers. Photographers. Designers. Animators. Podcasters. Developers. Entrepreneurs. Content creators. Young people discovering talents they may not even realize they have yet.

What we don't always have are enough accessible spaces designed to bring all of those people, disciplines, resources, and opportunities together.

That's why we're building Wondereum Studios.

Our goal is to establish the first Wondereum Studio in Hampton Roads, Virginia, by September 2027.

What Is Wondereum Studios?

Wondereum Studios is our vision for a new kind of creative co-working space: a place where creators don't simply rent a desk—they gain access to an ecosystem.

The Studio is being designed to give members access to professional creative equipment, collaborative workspaces, education, networking opportunities, and a community of people building things alongside them.

Imagine walking into one location where a photographer can create a photoshoot, a musician can record a song, a podcaster can produce an episode, a designer can work on a new brand, a developer can build an app, and an entrepreneur can meet another creator who becomes part of their next project.

Depending on the final facility and funding available, our goal is to provide resources such as digital cameras and photography equipment, music recording and podcasting equipment, creative workstations and gaming computers, digital drawing tools, production software, collaborative work areas, and spaces for workshops and educational programs.

But the equipment is only part of the vision.

We're Building Creative Infrastructure

One of the biggest barriers facing emerging creators isn't always talent.

Sometimes it's access.

Professional cameras are expensive. Computers capable of handling demanding creative software are expensive. Recording equipment is expensive. Software subscriptions are expensive. Studio space is expensive.

And trying to build something alone can be even harder.

Wondereum Studios is being created to reduce some of those barriers by allowing creators to share access to resources instead of requiring everyone to purchase an entire studio individually.

More importantly, we want to create an environment where different creative industries collide.

A musician may need an animator.

An entrepreneur may need a graphic designer.

A filmmaker may need original music.

A developer may need an illustrator.

A small business may need all of them.

Wondereum Studios can become a place where those relationships happen naturally.

Why Hampton Roads?

Hampton Roads already has an incredible foundation of artists, entrepreneurs, educational institutions, technology professionals, military-connected talent, small businesses, and cultural organizations.

The region itself recognizes arts and culture as an important economic asset. Regional economic-development planning has specifically identified investment in arts and culture as a way to improve quality of life while attracting creative and entrepreneurial knowledge workers. The region's nonprofit arts and cultural activity and its audiences alone have been reported as generating approximately $270 million in annual economic activity and supporting nearly 5,000 jobs.

The opportunity is already here.

We want to help build more infrastructure around it.

Wondereum Studios isn't intended to compete with Hampton Roads' existing creative community. We want to connect it.

Beyond Coworking

The long-term mission goes beyond providing equipment.

Wondereum Studios will also be designed to host creative workshops, educational programs, networking opportunities, collaborative events, mentorship opportunities, and youth programs that introduce the next generation to creative and technology-driven careers.

A teenager interested in drawing today could become tomorrow's animator.

Someone experimenting with beats could become an audio engineer.

A gamer fascinated by how games work could become a developer.

A person making videos on their phone could discover cinematography.

Sometimes people don't need someone to tell them what they're capable of.

They need access to the tools and environment that allow them to discover it themselves.

The First Studio Is Only the Beginning

Our September 2027 goal represents Phase One.

The first Hampton Roads Wondereum Studio will give us an opportunity to prove the model: build the community, measure participation and impact, develop sustainable membership and programming revenue, create partnerships, and learn what creators actually need from the space.

If the model works, the vision can grow.

More equipment. More programs. More opportunities. Larger facilities. Additional communities.

Ultimately, I would love to see Wondereum Studios become a network of creative spaces where people from different backgrounds and disciplines can walk through the doors with an idea—and have access to the people, knowledge and tools necessary to begin turning that idea into something real.

We're Looking for People Who Believe in the Vision

Between now and September 2027, we'll be working to secure the funding, partnerships, equipment, property, and community support necessary to open the first location.

That means we're looking to connect with:

Investors. Donors. Corporate sponsors. Grant organizations. Local businesses. Educational institutions. Equipment and technology companies. Community organizations. Creative professionals. Economic-development leaders.

Support doesn't have to come only through a traditional donation.

Organizations may be able to sponsor equipment, fund a workstation, support youth programming, provide technology, contribute professional services, establish educational partnerships, sponsor workshops, or help us connect with the people who can move this initiative forward.

Individuals can also support the Wondereum Studios campaign directly or support Wondereum by purchasing our products, creative services, and royalty-free music—with revenue helping us continue building toward the larger mission.

September 2027. Hampton Roads, Virginia.

That's the target.

There is a lot of work between where we are today and opening those doors.

But that's exactly why we're sharing the vision now.

We're not simply trying to open another studio.

We're working to create a place where creativity, technology, entrepreneurship, education, mental wellness, and community can exist under one roof.

A place built for the photographer with an idea.

The producer without a studio.

The entrepreneur searching for collaborators.

The kid who hasn't discovered their creative gift yet.

And the creator who simply needs a place where they feel like they belong.

This is the beginning of Wondereum Studios.

And we're inviting Hampton Roads—and anyone who believes in the power of creativity—to help us build it.
